12/5/2023 0 Comments Six senses yao noi pool![]() Almost all villas come with private pools, which mean you don't have to leave your space to chill in the water with a drink. The hotel has a nice enough beach and a better one is in front of the next resort along, which is only a 5-10 minute walk through the mangrove trail. Added bonus was that we were 2 minutes walk from the Hilltop Reserve (see below for more). We got the best of both worlds in Villa 44, which was completely secluded but had good views of the ocean from the main level but also the limestone islands from the upstairs open air lounge area. The villas are great and depending on what you want you can choose from extremely secluded with not much view all the way to glorious 180 degree views of the bay and limestone islands. The open air cinema a good idea in principle, but I have a tendency to be liked by mosquitos more than the average person, so I cannot say I enjoyed it all that much. The 12 hour per day free ice cream parlour is an excellent touch, as are the home made jams and cakes. Breakfast is great and offers a wide range of Wester and Asian options. Resort restaurants are excellent and we mostly stuck to Thai food (plus the odd late night burger). My wife also really enjoyed the spa (not my thing so didn't try it myself). ![]() Do also go to the town for a lunch or dinner, there are a few nice restaurants. You can do it with normal scooters, but you will probably struggle to get to some of the more remote areas, such as the long beach at the north west of the island,as the roads are pretty bad in places. We also rented a quad bike and went around the island. Definitely recommend both the mangrove kayak trip (Sharif our guide was brilliant) as well as the local islands tour (though note that the main one or most popular among the local islands is a tad crowded). We had a mix of chilling out and activities. We were initially placed in a villa that was somewhat exposed and when we explained we wanted something more secluded, she immediately moved us to the most remote and sheltered property we could have hoped for. Anne (pronounced Annie), our GEM, was just brilliant! Attentive and always available, while making sure she gave us the privacy we wanted. There is nothing that the resort staff have not thought to make guests' stay fun, pleasant and comfortable.
